Match Racing at the Aberdeen Boat Club
What is dinghy match racing...
-
1v1 racing over a two lap windward / leeward course.
-
Each team will consist of a helm and crew.
-
We will have two races going on course starting 5 minutes apart.
-
Races are 10 minutes long and teams change opponents each time.
-
Teams that are not racing will wait on the committee boat.
-
There are specific procedures for the start, protesting and on the water umpiring.
-
The format is often a round robin followed by a knockout finals round if time permits.
